Panner Bhurji – My Version
Paneer Bhurji is a popular dish loved by Indians across the world. It is an quick – easy to make, & a spicy dish that tastes great with bread, parathas, rotis, etc and few even like it all alone!
There are many versions of Paneer Bhurji made by different people, but here is a simple and tasty version which I personally prefer.
250 gms crumbled paneer(cottage cheese)
5-6 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) (optional)
1 cup or 2 medium size chopped onions
1/2 cup or 1 medium size chopped tomatoes
½ cup or 1 medium size chopped capsicum
½ tps ginger-garlic paste (optional)
½ tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 ¼ to 1 ½ tsp chilli powder (as per taste)
¾ to 1 tsp garam massala (as per taste)
2-3 green chillies ( if you like , can also use finely chopped)
2-3 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
salt to taste
Preparation Time: 10-12 mins
Cooking Time: 9-10 mins
Heat the oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds.,
When the seeds crackle, add the onions, capsicums, green chillies, tomatoes, ginger-garlic (optional) and sauté on a high flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam massala , salt and mix well
Add the paneer, and coriander (optional) and ¼ cup of water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
Garnish with chopped coriander & Serve hot.
You may go ahead and try in your kitchen
