Bhurji Panner Ki (Panner Bhurji) Traditional Version By Chef Jigss

Bhurji Panner Ki or Paneer Bhurji is a popular dish loved by Indians across the world. It is an quick to make, easy, spicy dish that tastes great with bread, parathas, rotis, etc and few even like it all alone!

Here is a traditional version of panner bhurji (typical street side) which is usually relished with sliced breads..

 

Ingredients

  • 200 gms paneer,finely crumbled/grated (cottage cheese)
  • ¾ cup onion/pyaaz, finely chopped
  • ½ – 3/4 cup tomato/tamatar, finely chopped
  • 3-4 tsp  green chillies/hari mirch, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste(optional)
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder/haldi
  • ½- ¾ tsp red chilly powder
  • ½ – ¾ tsp garam masala powder
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds/jeera
  • 2 – 3 tbsp cooking oil
  • salt as required
  • 2 -3 tbps coriander/dhania leaves for garnishing (finely chopped)

 

Preparation Time : 10 mins

Cooking Time : 7-8 mins

Serves: 3-4

 

 

 

Method

Heat the oil on a griddle and add the cumin seeds. When the seeds crackle, add the onions and sauté on a high flame for 1 to 2 minutes.

Add green chilies (ginger garlic paste, optional)

Add the garam massala, turmeric powder, chilli powder,  and tomatoes, ¼ cup water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.

Add the paneer,  salt  and little water (as per requirement), mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.

Sprinkle some chopped coriander, mix well and let it simmer for 1 min.

Transfer in a serving bowl and garnish with chopped coriander.

Serve Hot!!! (With Bread Slice )
