French fries, finger chips or potato chips – call it whatever – these delicious crispy fried potato sticks have been a junk food favorite since ages among all age groups and available world wide..
Here is a very simple and easy recipe to make restaurant style perfect crunchy golden outside and soft mushy inside “French Fries” at home, which will in no way compromise with the texture, appearance and taste…While maintaining the quality to the highest possible levels & not to mention also will be very economical. The biggest advantage is that there are no artificial colors, chemicals, preservatives, etc added…..
- Potatoes (medium-large) washed & pealed
- Salt to Taste
- Oil for Frying
- Black Pepper powder (optional) as per taste
- Cheese (Optional) as per taste
- Tomato Ketchup as required
Prep: 10-15 min
Inactive: 20 min to 2 hr
Cook: 10-15 min
Wash, Peel the potatoes and cut them into into finger sized pieces.
Boil water in a deep vessel/pan and add salt.
Now Add the cut potato pieces once water starts boiling ,Boil for 1-2 mins only and
Then immediately drain off the water, pour cold water and rinse properly. Keep aside to cool and dry a little and come to room temperature.
Transfer the potato pieces into a zip-lock bag and seal after removing any excess air.
Keep them in the deep freezer ( for min 20-30 min), keep longer for better results
When required remove them from the deep freezer
Deep fry directly in medium hot oil till golden and crisp.
Drain and place on absorbent paper
Transfer in to a serving plate , sprinkle black pepper powder (optional) and serve hot.
Tip 1: For better results, keep in deep freezer for at least 2-3 hrs before deep frying
Tip 2 : Can be stored in deep freezer for at least 25-30 days(without any additional preservatives) and used as N when required..
You are ready to go ahead and try in your kitchen….
